It didn't move. It stayed still. I held it. It had no fear.
Now what are the odds? Let's call this fine feathered creature I'm holding above Jack. Does it ring a bell? Well I assume Jack was avoiding this passerine below that was stalking him top of a nearby tree.

「MONのCHROMΣ」: 鵙 a.k.a. Shrike
mozuoDon't be fooled by appearances. For this bird earned it's reputation as the Vlad Tepes of the Aves. It's small yet it's terrible! It's a cold hearted killer that impales. Must be fascinating to see it in action though. Luckily Jack above evaded the onslaught and lived to chirp the tale.

Humans have something similar to birds... We call it the Fight or Flight Response. In the midst of any trial or adversity we are faced to make a choice. We decide to either deal with the problem or run away. Others think doing nothing at all is an escape from making that choice. But the truth of the matter is choosing is without recourse. The illusion of not making a choice is actually a choice in itself and one must bear the inescapable consequences either way. There is always Cause and Effect, Newton's 3rd Law of Physics, Gravity and Karma.

Confine yourself to the present; you have power over your mind and not external events. Realize this and you will find that what doesn't murder you, makes you stronger!
